Tokyo Zine
This mini-magazine is a compilation of Tokyo photos taken on a trip in February 2020 with my colleage Martin.
A few limited prints of the A5 zine are still available. Please contact me if you are interested.
More than this
I reassamble the mood from the the movie Lost in Translation by Sofia Coppola with the famous soundtrack Roxy Music - More than this. The experience of the Zine is best when listening to the song. Bill Murray known as "Bob Harris" performs a karaoke version of the song in the movie.
Tokyo Tower
View of the Tokyo Tower from Tokyo City View on top of Roppingi Hills.
Japanese Wedding
Photographers taking pictures at a Japanese wedding at the Hie Shrine.
Morning in Tamachi
Commuting people near Tamachi station. Also a great spot to take pictures of the famous Shinkansen train.
Harbour Streets
Walking around in Shibaura to take some street, staircase and architecture photos.
Shibuya Crossing
Sunset at Shibuya Crossing viewed from MAG's PARK, on top of the Magent by Shibuya 109. One of the most iconic crossings in the world. Another great view nearby is Shibuya Sky.
Tokyo Sunset
Amazing orange sunset looking down on the skyscrapers of Shinjuku. During this sunset I wanted to take a picture of the Diamond Fuji, which is only possible twice a year from this location, but unfortunately it was hidden behind clouds.
Tokyo Skyline
The ultimate Tokyo night shot, showing the dimension of the city. I also took a picture on the same spot before sunset.
Shinjuku Alley
A Side Alley in Shinjuku turned out as the Blade Runner shot of the trip. This is the picture I like most and embraces so much I experienced during my time in Japan. The portrait version of this picture is even better!
Selfie Time
The mirror selfie at Kabukichō Ichiban-gai Gate unlocked my next level in photography. Yes, it's me reflecting on the car taking the picture.
After Work
North of Tamachi Station the locals get together and have after work drinks and party.
Godzilla
The Godzilla head on top of the Shinjuku Toho Building is a major landmark in Kabukichō. Even the road is called Godzilla road.
Ichiban-gai Gate
If you envision a Tokyo full of neon signs, streets like Ichiban-gai in Kabukichō do conform to that expectation.
